Counc. Norman Sandberg plans to bring reverse-angle parking back to the table.
Sandberg said he will be asking for some money in the budget to add to the reverse-angle parking trial that is currently ongoing at Sunset Point.
Sandberg, who brought the idea to council, said reverse-angle parking is safer for children getting out of vehicles, and will also allow bike lanes along town streets.
The trial on St. Lawrence Street receives mixed compliance, but Sandberg says one of the reasons is the lack of parking on the south side of the street. That, he said, encourages people to pull into parking spots from the south side of the street.
The money the councillor will be asking for will be allocated to creating parallel parking on the south side.
The trial was originally to last a year, but was extended for another year.
