A Clearview Township man pleaded guilty this week to driving while disqualified, receiving 10 months behind bars as straight time.
James Fisher, 40, who has amassed 19 convictions for the same offence - already has a lifetime suspension through Ontario Ministry of Transportation edicts.
Crown attorney Enno Meijers read that on Nov. 19, 2007, Huronia West officers were alerted by a civilian at the Mac's Milk store in Stayner about "a dark-colour Chrysler with an unknown direction of travel."
Police caught up to Fisher as he initially tried to leave the vehicle, and then returned to it. He soon admitted to driving his boss's car and to being under suspension, court heard.
"It's an atrocious record. This man seems to be somewhat incorrigible when it comes to driving disqualified... his last sentence was in a penitentiary," said Meijers in making submissions.
Mr. Justice Roland Harris concurred.
"You're completely thumbing your nose at the justice system," he said.
