At Monday's meeting, during a discussion on AMO fees, Councillor Norman Sandberg mentioned that there is a possibility that he could to become president of AMO.
Sandberg has been involved with AMO for six years and currently serves as chair of the Small Urban Caucus and is a vice president on the executive board.
Sandberg couldn't offer more details at the present time but said there is an opportunity.
He said there are numerous advantages of being a part of the executive including having the ear of provincial policy makers.
He said the province is mandated to consult with AMO when it is looking to pass legislation that will have an impact on municipalities.
"I've been able to be the voice of Collingwood directly to the executive table," he said.
