Nottawa's Earl Wilson is once again one of Canada's best arm wrestlers.
The 50-year-old, arrived home from Prince Edward Island on Monday with five gold medals and one silver from the Canadian Arm Wrestling Championships, something nobody has ever done.
Wilson won gold in the Open Division (242 lbs) - left and right arm, Masters Division (over 40), gold in the left arm and silver in the right arm and gold in the Grandmasters (Over 50) in both the left and right arm categories.
Wilson said because he was competing in so many classes, he had to run from table to table to compete. He said he also had to lose a lot of weight to compete in the six classes.
"It was really tough," Wilson said. "It was a lot of work. I was going all the time."
Wilson said he wasn't pinned in the tournament but lost the sixth gold medal because he fouled out.
Wilson has been arm wrestling for more than 20 years and has won eight gold medals at the world championships.
Wilson is now gearing up for the world championships in Venice this September where he hopes to break his own record by winning by three golds and a silver medal.
He said he is hoping to bring the provincial championships to Collingwood sometime in the future.
