The band that got its start in Collingwood and includes Nathan Ferraro (singer/piano) of Nottawa and Daenen Bramberger (drums) of Wasaga Beach, took home Best New Artist (Fan's Choice) and Best Indie Video from the MMVAs.
"That was one of the best feelings of my life," Ferraro said. "I wasn't expecting that. Our fans are so incredible. When I think about when I was 14, writing songs, you never think something like this would actually happen."
Ferraro said the band is currently performing in festivals across Canada and are gearing up for the release of their album, Holes, which is available across the country, in the UK and the U.S.
To date, the band's single Never Again has achieved gold status of 40,000 downloads.
In an effort to prepare for the U.S. release, Ferraro said the band has teamed up with platinum selling artist Lady Gaga on a remake of the Peter Gabriel song Don't Give Up.
"She's an incredible singer and a lot of fun to work with," he said. "The first time we met, she ended up spilling her red wine all over my jacket."
Ferraro said the band is looking at hitting the road in the UK later this summer.
