Creemore Springs Brewery's annual Copper Kettle Festival takes place Saturday, Aug. 23.
The day is a celebration of the brewery, founded in 1987, and the village where it's based.
Various activities and events will happen along Mill Street, at Station on the Green on Caroline Street and at the brewery, also on Mill Street.
Among the activities is the Creemore Farmers' Market, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Station on the Green on Caroline Street. The building is a replica of the village's old railway station. The market features vendors with lots of great local products.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Mill Street, there's the third annual Copper Kettle Car Show, featuring an array of old vehicles, shined up and looking pretty. This year original and restored service vehicles will be showcased.
Also during the day, from noon to 6 p.m., there will be a beer garden and live music, from a stage, at the brewery.
The brewery, from 1 to 5 p.m., will also serve as the starting point for family wagon rides and walking tours of the village, known for its Victorian homes, pretty downtown and interesting shops.
Places to visit include the Creemore Jail on Library Street, a 19th-century-era lockup that was used into the 20th century. The jail is billed as the smallest of its kind in North America.
As well, at the brewery, there will be the opportunity to enjoy old-fashioned fair games and pony rides from noon to 5 p.m.
At noon, the Beinn Gorm Highlanders, a Georgian Triangle pipe and drum band, will march down Mill Street.
Over at the stage, The Rizdales will perform at 1 p.m. Organizers say that hardcore country music lovers will "revel in the sweet, jubilant and sometimes sorrowful sound of this favourite country, bluegrass act," that was formed in London, Ont., in 2002 by Tom Dunphy and his wife, Tara.
Sambacana will perform at 2:40 p.m. at the stage. Organizers say the group is "a creation of powerful melodies and rhythms provided by a battery of drums and percussion, guitars, bass, keyboards and vocals."
The Hamilton-based rock band Young Revival performs at 4:25 p.m. Organizers say the group has "chiseled their sound and arrived at something effortlessly cool. A compelling act with a raw, loud, dark and melodic sound."
The George Kash Experience, featuring Oktoberfest fun and music, is on deck at 5:45 p.m.
Kash, known as the upside-down beer guzzler, is also acting as the emcee for the day.
