The union representing Georgian College’s support staff is back to the bargaining table Tuesday to try and hammer out a new deal.

There are 383 full-time Georgian College employees affected, with 212 of them at the Barrie campus. Support staff is the information technology, clerical, accounting, marketing, and bookstore workers.

The concern is over salary, and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) is hoping for the same wage increase offered to other college employees, which is four per cent.

The contract with OPSEU expires Aug. 31.

If workers do strike, the college has said classes will still start in September.
