Fourteen-year-old Brandon Ng of Toronto topped a field of 64 golfers to capture the 2008 Investors Group Junior Boys Match Play Championship Friday at Batteaux Creek Golf Club in Clearview Township.
The 2007 Ontario Juvenile Boys Champion played six rounds of golf in four days under hot and humid conditions, but Ng doesn't feel that the weather affected his game.
"When I finished yesterday [after playing 36 holes] I was more tired than I have ever been playing golf," said Ng. "It was incredibly hot on the course but I was still able to play well."
Ng bested runner-up Ryan Terdik of Mount Pleasant in a two-and-one victory in Friday morning's final match.
He had previously defeated 2008 Junior Spring Classic and Men's Better Ball Champion Richard Jung in the quarterfinals Thursday afternoon to advance to the final round.
Ng hopes to continue his momentum heading into this week's Investors Group Junior and Juvenile Boys Championship at Pickering's Whitevale Golf Club, where he is looking to defend his Juvenile title.
The Investors Group Junior Boys Match Play Championship was played for the 11th time this summer at the scenic Collingwood-area course and featured some of Ontario's best junior golfers.
