More than 400 soccer players from 20 schools across Ontario will be competing in Collingwood from June 9-11.
For the first time, the OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) AA girls' Soccer Championships will be held in Collingwood and hosted by Jean Vanier High School.
The tournament will be held at Fisher Field and Jean Vanier.
"We thought it would be a great opportunity to show off our town," said Jean Vanier soccer coach and tournament convenor Liz Payton.
Being the host, the Jean Vanier Storm will get an opportunity to compete for the OFSAA title.
Payton said her side won't be the highest scoring team in the tournament, but play a strong defensive game led by goalkeeper Justine Bennett and sweeper Cassandra Ironside.
"We're a very competitive team," she said. "Our keeper is fantastic and we have one of the best sweepers in Ontario."
Payton said the games are open to the public and encourages people to come out and watch the action.
"They are going to see some of the best high school soccer in Ontario," she said.
