The annual competition for the prestigious Georgian Pontiac Trophy was held Saturday in the Barrie Sports Dome - the home of the Barrie Lawn Bowling Club.
First prize went to Stayner’s George Peart with Peter Forster and Gerry Cox.
The High 2 Game prize went to Orillia’s John Ferguson, with George Finlay and Chelo de los Kios. Second High 2 game prize went to Barrie’s Don Holman, Carole M Ills and Mary Anne Tomlinson, while Barb Davey and her Barrie team of Ralph Lougheed and Ron Armstrong was the High 1 game winner.
The format of this tournament was three 12-end games and was competed for by teams from Stayner, Willowdale, Collingwood, Orillia and Barrie.
To know more about lawn bowling in Barrie, bowling times are Mondays - 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (followed by tea/coffee/refreshments); Tuesdays - 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.; Wednesdays - 10:00 a.m. to noon.
