A 24-year-old Brampton man entered an in-custody plea this week of possessing a stolen Skidoo, receiving 42 days behind bars on top of time served.

Prosecutor Jennifer Armenise advanced that on Jan. 28,  Huronia West officers acted on a tip, setting up surveillance at a Stayner home.

While police waited in anticipation of "a stolen snowmobile being dropped off," Pascal Rancourt pulled into the private drive with the item, where he removed his helmet, said the Crown.

The accused - whose complexion and hair colour matched the description given to police - was then arrested and identified with a health card.

The 2002 'Touring Edition' Skidoo, valued at $2,000, had ignition damage and was without keys, court heard on May 6, Mr. Justice Roland Harris identified over 27 convictions on Rancourt's record, including a series of offences in 2005.
