A 13-year-old boy from Quebec has died after falling off a Yamaha Wave Runner at Wasaga Beach.

The incident happened in Nottawasaga Bay, shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Const. Mark Kinney of the Huronia West OPP detachment says the victim, now identified as Christopher Carson of Baie D’urfe, Quebec, was riding on the watercraft with two men, when he fell off the back of the craft.

Kinney says the men brought Carson back to shore.

Paramedics then transported the teen to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A Post Mortem examination was scheduled for Friday at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.

Kinney says that all three people on the craft were wearing personal flotation devices.
